The htpG gene of Bacillus subtilis belongs to class III heat shock genes and is under negative control.
We show that the htpG gene of Bacillus subtilis is induced by heat, as has been reported for the Escherichia coli homolog. Analysis of different mutants revealed that the htpG gene belongs to class III heat shock genes in B. subtilis. An about 10-fold induction after thermal upshock was found at the levels of both transcription and translation, and this induction resulted from enhanced synthesi...
متن کاملfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولSigM-responsive genes of Bacillus subtilis and their promoters.
Promoters of nine Bacillus subtilis genes (bcrC, yacK, ydaH, yfnI, yjbD, ypbG, ypuA, yraA, and ysxA), all responsive to artificially induced increases in the stress-responsive extracytoplasmic function sigma factor, SigM, were mapped by rapid amplification of cDNA ends-PCR. The resulting promoter consensus suggests that overlapping control by SigX or SigW is common.
متن کاملP-157: Polymorphic Core Promoter GA-repeats Alter Gene Expression of The Early Embryonic Developmental Genes
Background: We examine the GA-repeat core promoters of MECOM and GABRA3 in human embryonic kidney-293 cell line and show that those GA-repeats have promoter activity, and those different alleles of the repeats can significantly alter gene expression. We propose a novel role for GA-repeat core promoters to regulate gene expression in the genes involved in development and evolution. Materials and M...
متن کاملNucleotide sequence of the Bacillus subtilis developmental gene spoVE.
We have determined the nucleotide sequence of a 1159 bp DNA fragment containing the spoVE locus of Bacillus subtilis. The locus contained a single open reading frame of 293 codons. On the basis of the predicted amino acid sequence, the product of the spoVE gene is believed to be a protein with an Mr of 31,539. The amino-terminal portion of the spoVE gene was used to construct a translational fu...
